Yorkdale’s Aesthetics Certificate Program is for you!

In Just 18 Weeks, of Full Time Study, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. You Can:

  • Learn how to give professional manicure, pedicure and spa services
  • Explore specialized services of hair removal by specializing in waxing
  • Practice professional day and evening application and correctional make-up
  • Learn basic facial and skin care
  • Familiarize yourself with industry practice standards
  • Experience admission to trade shows
  • Attend seminars
  • Listen to guest speakers on product knowledge and how to run a personal service business in the areas of skin care and reflexology
  • Complete a co-op placement in a salon/spa

 

Future Opportunities For Aesthetics Graduates:

  • Work in a salon and/or a spa
  • Start your own business
  • Enjoy flexible work hours to suit your lifestyle (e.g.: full time or part time)

This Course Can be Taken Prior to Hairstyling
or as an Enhanced Learning Experience
Following The Hairstyling Program.

By The End of This Course, Students Will be Able to:

  • Be familiar with the role of the personal services industry locally, provincially and nationally
  • Describe industry standards for Aesthetics work environments
  • Demonstrate correct use of tools and equipment
  • Experience the fundamentals of salon management through the use of computer software
  • Earn six credits towards your OSSD
  • Completed a co-op experience in a salon/spa (6 to 9 weeks)

What Courses Will I Take?

  • The grade 10, Health and Personal Services Technology (TPJ2O) course is worth 3 credits
  • Students will also have a co-op placement in a salon/spa
