Yorkdale’s
Hairstyling Certificate/Apprenticeship Program qualifies
you to:
-
write the Ministry tests that exempt you from further
in-school study at a community college
-
continue your apprenticeship in a licensed salon that
will qualify you to write the Ministry of Training,
Colleges and University licensing examinations
-
NB-candidates who wish to write the licensing examinations
must have their grade 12 diploma

HAIRSTYLING
CERTIFICATE / APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
If
you:
-
have a passion for fashion hairstyling
-
dream of becoming a licensed hairstylist
-
want to earn credits towards your secondary school
diploma
( NB: grade 12 is now a requirement for becoming a
licensed hairstylist)
-
want to earn hours towards your apprenticeship while
earning credits towards your diploma
-
want to benefit from learning in a classroom/salon
environment
-
foresee working with top of the line hairstyling and
hair colouring products
-
want to be taught by qualified teachers
If
you answered yes then
Yorkdale’s
hairstyling program is designed for you!
In
just one year, September – June, 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday,
you will:
-
earn 11 credits towards your OSSD (Ontario Secondary
School Diploma)
NB: grade 12 is now a requirement to become licensed
hairstylist
-
partner with a licensed hairstylist who will supervise
your apprenticeship
-
earn up to 360 hours towards your apprenticeship while
earning co-op credits in a licensed salon
-
earn a Yorkdale Hairstyling Certificate

are two major components to this program:
