| Along
the shoreline
That I tread,
I pause before my
Life ahead.
And as I hold it
Tenderly,
I close my eyes,
And steadily
Caressing
it
Within my mind,
Knowing soon
What I would find.
And
at that moment
Was revealed,
What all my wealth
Had long concealed.
I
saw my years
Pass me by,
With all my work
I’d let them fly.
Failing
in my
Defiance
Against my age
In ignorance,
To
see that time itself
Will pass,
And with it life
like shattered glass. |
I
found the joy
In simplicity,
That I had missed
so hastily,
when
I believed
the way to live,
Was always take
and never give.
Until
one day
I lost it all,
To lift myself
1 had to fall.
And
standing sullen
On the beach,
My thread of life
blew out of reach.
Once
in my mind
Reminding me,
The way to grasp
reality.
Along
the shoreline
that I tread,
I ponder all
that life has said.
