Poetry
Into Sweet Devotion
How often we have
Caressed the hearts
Of one another,
Massaging those bruises
Inflicted by that which
Would harm us.
How often we have
Surrendered time,
Into sweet devotion
For each other,
Bathed in a serene
Silhouette of light,
As the cruel night
May not overcome
The day that embraces us.
How often we have
Loved, and as you have
Loved away bad times
Tenderly, in the midst of
All distress,
I will love you always,
With every breath of my life.
